Chapter Description: The Legend of Greta Smith....

In the small town of Oceanridge, California, there is a legend. The legend of the Nanny has been spread all throughout the town. In the 1800s, there was once a nanny called Greta Smith. She was quite possibly the strictest nanny in all of Oceanridge. She would often discipline children that did not live up to her expectations. Her behavior often bordered on sadistic. It eventually got to the point where she finally lost it.

On June 23, 1867, Greta Smith went on a killing spree. She killed over a quarter of the town’s children, all while screaming “NAUGHTY! NAUGHTY! NAUGHTY!” The sheriff managed to shoot her down while she was in one of the streets. She died in a state of pure rage. According to many conflicted accounts, the sheriff had heard her last words.

According to them, she had said; “They must be taught! They must be helped! They must start over!”

It is believed that she had cursed the town with her presence. If you ask any adult, they’ll deny it and say it is merely an urban legend. If you ask the children however, you will find a much different story.

According to children, on the night of your tenth birthday and your fifteenth birthday, you will be visited by Greta Smith. If you are polite and answer her questions with good manners, she will allow you to go through unscathed. However, if you are rude, or outright unbelieving of her, she will curse you. The curse is said to make you into a baby again, so that you may learn to be more polite the next time around. The cycle can repeat itself if you do not learn from your mistakes, since the curse does erase your book learning, it does not erase your personal memories. That may be the scariest thing of all.

Greta cannot be denied. If you try, you will fail.
