Chapter 5
Conclusion

Chapter Description: With Alex wallowing in despair and Megan and Freddy barging in, Ashley resolves Alex's problems.

Alex didn’t respond.

“Hey, Alex! Remember we had an appointment scheduled for seven? If you needed a ride, all you had to do was ask.” Megan called, “Honestly, you’re acting like a child.”

Alex didn’t respond.

Ashley could hear the door to Alex’s room start to jiggle. Megan was picking the lock. “Alex... at least tell them you’re not in the mood right now.” Ashley insisted. Alex just lay there, not responding at all.

After a minute of the lock jiggling, the door finally opened. Ashley faced Megan, who stared back in shock. She could see Ashley!

“Y-you are...” Megan began.

“I am Ashley, Alex’s not-so-imaginary friend.” Megan and Freddy just stared at Ashley as Alex continued to tune them out.

“Fuck, this won’t make any sense in my research notes.” Megan blurted. “How the fuck are you real?”

Ashley paused before answering, “I am what you would call a guardian angel... granted, that’s not exactly what I am, but for all intents and purposes, it’s the closest your language gets to describing me.” she looked down at Alex, “I can’t help him now. Thanks a lot.”

“I had my boyfriend over yesterday, I couldn’t very well have seen him on that kind of notice.” Megan defended herself, “Besides, everyone, and I mean, everyone, knows that it’s common courtesy to at least call before showing up.”

“Well, thanks anyway. He was under the impression that you wanted to be friends with him instead of just practicing what you were learning at school on him. He won’t even respond to me anymore.” she stroked his head. “He was just a little guy when we met. He’d had an imaginary friend for about a year and he seemed to think I was her. I couldn’t help but stick around. For the most part only he could see me, but that changed when we got into areas with a strong enough magnetic field... I’m sorry for this, Freddy.”

Sparks flew from Ashley and zapped Freddy. Megan couldn’t put it into words, but the closest thing to describe what she was witnessing was Freddy being devoured by the light. Freddy vanished in a flash as Ashley took human form.

“This body should last me a while,” she observed, looking herself over, “now... let’s see about helping out my little buddy here.” More sparks shot from Ashley. Instead of consuming Alex, they seemed to dissolve into him. Alex clutched his chest as he felt a strange feeling come over him.

“ARGH!!!” Alex moaned. He began to writhe in pain.

“SH! SH!!! Don’t fight it.” Ashley coaxed him, “You’ll feel better in a few minutes.”

Megan watched dumbfounded as Alex began to change. It seemed very gradual, yet very steady. Alex quit writhing per Ashley’s command, but he still looked uncomfortable. He was slowly starting to shrink! She watched in horror and fascination as Alex became smaller and smaller. As Alex disappeared into his clothing,

Ashley fished out a small toddler from the aftermath. Alex looked nothing as he did when he was an adult. "This is a bit younger than what I had intended, but I can work with it." Megan stated as she threw Alex up in the air. "Mishashee!!!" Little Alex exclaimed as she caught him.

"Aww, he remembers my name... isn’t that just precious?" Ashley exclaimed, pulling Alex in for a hug.

Megan just stared, "The fuck!" she finally said, "You ruined my project! I’m not going to be able to get ahead now..." she fell to her knees, clutching her head.

Ashley conjured a diaper out of thin air. "Really need to stop consuming essence like this... anyway, no, you did not need Alex for your education. It would have been nice if you had just been there for him as a friend, but using him for a study was just horrible." she paused, "but good news is I have a way for you to make it up to him."

Megan stared at Ashley as she diapered her former "client". She did not like where this was going. "Fuck this. I’m not babysitting that brat." Megan got up to leave, but couldn’t move as she felt her legs freeze.

"Naturally, I want Alex to grow up with friends this time, but if all else fails, having a little sister is a really good start! Since you have no future, you can be my perfect little candidate."

Now Megan couldn’t move at all... she’d be younger than a toddler. Finding her strength, Megan started to run, but was caught by the same sparks that had been used on Alex. "Noooo!!! I don’t wanna be a baby!!!" she moaned as she started to shrink.

Her transformation was similar to Alex’s, except that Ashley picked up a baby girl this time, barely a few months old. In the same manner in which she had clothed Alex, Ashley attended to Little Meggy.

"There!" she said as she straightened up. Forging documentation and covering the disappearances would be easy enough, but in the meantime, Ashley had a lot of shopping to do.
