An ancient Navajo demon sucks the life out of mortals, but not in the way you would think. I don't know if I'll add more to it or not yet.
Chapter Description: A quick story from Grandpa.
“There is a story,” the old man muttered.
The teenager who sat next to him groaned, knowing another anecdote from his grandfather was on its way. So, he sighed and let his elder ramble.
“In the old Navajo mythology, one that is not known to historians resides a demonic entity. This entity was known as Nepukshuks, which means ‘the leech’. It selects the most powerful out of all those around it, and then sucks the strength from its target. And by strength, I mean all forms of strength. No one has seen what the victim looks like afterwards, or at least, they didn’t know they had seen what he looks like.”
The teen sat up, suddenly interested. “What does this ‘Nepukshuks’ look like?”
His grandfather shrugged. “It is a spirit, and does not have a physical form. It is said that it only gains a form once it leeches the essence from its victim. Be wary, it may just select you!”
The teen laughed. “Yeah, okay Grandpa.”
“Be wary, Marcus.”
