Velma’s Mysterious Halloween Mystery

Chapter 2
It was a dark and stormy night.

Chapter Description: Fred and Daphne "investigate", Scooby and Shaggy "explore"

Up in the master bedchamber, Fred and Daphne were admiring the size of the room with its cozy fireplace, reading library next door, thick woolen Persian carpets, and a large king-sized four-poster bed in the center. 

Daphne noted that the room was spotless and that the sheets and blankets on the bed were clean and fresh. She sat on the edge of it and patted the area next to her. Fred wandered on over and the two of them began checking out each other for possible clues.

In the kitchen, Shaggy and Scooby found that the pantry was full of well-preserved deli meats and found a professional meat slicer in the kitchen. When Shaggy flicked its power switch as a joke, he was surprised to find that the Mansion’s power was still on. The two started slicing up the deli meats for a large sandwich, but there wasn’t any bread. They braved on by consuming the freshly cut slices of meat without it.

In the downstairs laboratory, Velma also discovered that the power was on at the mansion and turned on the overhead lights before looking for a filing system that would show her what Augustus Sr. had been up to before his demise. She wasn’t disappointed then when she found a large stack of filing drawers mounted into the wall at the back of the lab. Pulling one out, she noted that it was full from front to back with neatly labeled manila folders.

“Cellular rejuvenation” was the label that caught her eye as she pulled out the third drawer. She couldn’t miss it as it was circled in magenta ink and was by far, the thickest of the lot. She took the folder over to a small business desk, turned on its light, and proceeded to read the contents.

Meanwhile, Fred and Daphne finished “looking for clues” in the master bedroom and were now examining one of several guest rooms. Fred opened a closet and found some clothes that wouldn’t have looked out of place on a sea captain. He pulled out a blue double-breasted blazer with gold piping and measured it for size against his body. Daphne was looking through a dresser and found silk stockings and panties complete with garter belts. The sheer amount of outfits that rivaled a Victoria’s Secret catalog in the adjoining walk-in closet were just too good to resist. She started to strip, cursed the dark, and unconsciously hit the light switch out of pure reflex. The lights to the walk-in closet came on and she smiled as she now could see the outfits clearly.

Shag and Scoob sat down on the floor of the kitchen with their backs supported by one of the many cabinets that were there. They patted their oversize stomachs in sheer bliss and looked ready to pass out.
