Chapter 11
Toddlers On The Hunt

Chapter Description: Chiyo and I have awoken from our nap with a need for food and adventure. I’m so happy my bestest friend is here on this world with me.

Date: 13:00 49th Cycle (13:00 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: Chiyo’s Home Base, Planet Ayodele Prime, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

My eyes snap open and turn to my right in my bed to find Overseer Calptai taping a fresh diaper around Chiyo’s waist, “Good afternoon, Chiyo-chan!”

Chiyo turns toward me with a smile, “Hey, Stacey! Overseer Calptai just changed you.” Chiyo smiles toward Overseer Calptai as the Faenus secures the right tape of her new diaper and pats the front, “Right, Overseer Calptai?”

Overseer Calptai nods as she lifts Chiyo into the air and sets the toddler on her feet in front of my bed, “Yep, I did. You tots can go play now. Just be sure to be back before 18:00.”

Chiyo nods, “Okay, Overseer Calptai!”

I hop down from my guest bed and waddle over to Chiyo, “Chiyo-chan?” I wrap my arms around her and giggle as I kiss her cheek, “Did you have a good nap?”

Chiyo giggles as she returns my hug, “Yeah, I slept good.” She breaks free of the hug and boops my nose, “Whatcha wanna do now?”

My belly growls and I turn to Overseer Calptai, “I’m hungry. Did you come up with unique dishes on this world like my Faenus farmer did?”

Overseer Calptai smiles and ruffles my hair, “I got Mystery Meat, Solar Flower Stew, Happy Tree Fruit slices and Happy Tree Fruit juices from the trade terminal on the second floor. I take it that your Faenus farmer is responsible for those new dishes?”

I giggle and smile toward Overseer Calptai whilst my belly growls, “Yeah. Farmer Kriptu is the best farmer on this planet if I do say so myself.”

Overseer Calptai nods and walks toward the dining room to turn on the food processor against the right-hand wall, “So what do you kiddos want for lunch then?”

I turn to Chiyo and poke her belly, “What’s your favorite foods, Chiyo-chan?”

Chiyo smiles, “Mystery Meat and the Happy Tree Fruit Juice!” She giggles as she trains her smile on Overseer Calptai, “Can we have that Overseer Calptai?”

Overseer Calptai nods and presses the respective buttons for each item, “Coming right up. Come to the dining room.”

I poke Chiyo’s nose, “Tag!” and waddle-run toward the dining room.

Chiyo giggles as she waddle-runs down the hallway and tags me seconds after I reach the dining room, “Gotcha!”

I giggle and poke Chiyo’s belly, “I gotchu too.”

Overseer Calptai chuckles at our happiness and lifts us into her arms, “Alrighty, let’s get you kiddos fed.” She sets us in the two chairs on the left side of the table and walks over to the food processor to retrieve the plates of Mystery Meat steak alongside two baby bottles of Happy Tree Fruit Juice.

I tilt my head when Overseer Calptai sets our plates in front of us, “Aren’t you going to eat, Overseer Calptai?”

Overseer Calptai nods, “I am, I just have to get it from the food processor. It can only hold two plates and two baby bottles at one time.” She walks over to the food processor to grab her own plate.

I turn to Chiyo as she drains her bottle to half and sets it back down beside her plate, “So, how do you like Ayodele Prime, Chiyo-chan?”

Chiyo giggles and swings her legs as Overseer Calptai approaches with her food to sit down across from us, “I love it here. There’s no bugs and stuff to sting you and it’s really nice. I’ve met so many people and I met my new friend, Overseer Calptai too. It’s a really nice planet.”

I smile toward Chiyo as I finish cutting up my Mystery Meat steak, “I’m glad you like it here. I like it too.”

Overseer Calptai smiles as she watches us chat while pausing to eat a portion of our food and drain our bottles. “I’m glad Chiyo met her friend on this world. I agree with it being peaceful and no bugs to worry about. It’s a lot more peaceful than my home world. Glad Chiyo will never have to deal with territorial Powersaurs.”

Location: Chiyo’s Home Base, Planet Ayodele Prime, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

I smile down at my empty plate and scan the five baby bottles sitting to the left of my plate, “That was really good!”

Chiyo nods and hops up from her chair, “Yeah! Let’s go fight some Sentinels!”

Overseer Calptai gathers up our plates and walks over to the food processor, “Now just wait a minute.” She sets the plates and bottles on top of the food processor for them all to vanish into the storage container for washing and dry storage. She turns back to us and walks over to kneel, “Do you remember what happens during a battle if your shields deplete?”

Chiyo giggles and boops Overseer Calptai’s beak, “Yeppers, I appear back here in my bed and you’re smiling down at me. Then after changies I go back to my battle point with the technology you bought from Overseer Drogra and fight more Sentinels.”

Overseer Calptai nods and pats Chiyo’s bottom resulting in a blue orb appearing on her diapered bottom, “Good deal.” She walks over to me and ruffles my hair, “Ready?”

I giggle and wrap my arms around Overseer Calptai, “Yeppers.” I giggle while Overseer Calptai returns my hug and pats my diapered bottom, “Thankies.” I break free of the hug and waddle toward the front door, “Come on, Chiyo-chan!”

Chiyo giggles as she waddles toward the front door and claps my right shoulder, “I’m ready.”

“Good.” I already have an outpost setup on Ayodele II, so we can just warp there.” I waddle alongside my friend and smile when we reach about 20 units away from her house.

Date: 13:57 49th Cycle (13:57 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: 10 minutes away from Chiyo’s Home Base, Planet Ayodele Prime, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

I snap my fingers and my inventory menu appears in my upper vision. I blink as I search through my inventory and smile at the Base Terminus. I aim my hand toward the empty space in front of me and straightaway the giant silver portal appears before us. I turn to Chiyo with a smile. “Let’s go!”

Chiyo smiles as she waddles alongside me through the portal…

Date: 14:00 49th Cycle (14:00 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: Ayodele Imperial Outpost Beta, Planet Ayodele II, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

I giggle as the blue light fades to reveal the single circular building and twin launchpads hosting our ships to the left, “Here we are, Ayodele II.” I dart my eyes around the orange dirt covered ground and giggle when a creature with six legs, a dark brown shell, and two antennae peeking from under the shell to point upward, walks toward us and turns to the left.

I turn to Chiyo while brandishing Ayodele’s Balance, “Ready to go Sentinel Hunting?”

Chiyo brandishes her own weapon, similar in style to Ayodele’s Balance, but it’s all pink, “Yeppers. Let’s kick some Sentinel butt!” Chiyo waddle-runs after the creature and smiles when she spots a Sentinel Drone scanning the area a few feet to her right, “Found one!”

“YES!” I waddle over to Chiyo and take aim at the Sentinel Drone, sending it into metal and Pugneum with Plasma Auto Rifle fire.

Chiyo claps her hands and stands behind me with her back to me as Sentinels begin flying toward us, flanking us, “They’re here.”

WARNING SENTINELS UNITS DETECTED

I giggle as I begin assailing the Sentinels to our left with Plasma Auto Rifle fire, “This is gonna be fun!”

Date: 15:17 49th Cycle (15:17 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: Ayodele Imperial Outpost Beta, Planet Ayodele II, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

I dive inside my Outpost building and turn to see Chiyo waddling inside, “So…how many are there now?”

Chiyo peeks through the bioenvironmental door’s blue transparent screen, “There’s ten and a Sentinel Mech.

I switch Ayodele’s Balance to Overdrive and waddle-run out, “COME ON! DRAW THEIR FIRE!”

Chiyo giggles as she waddles outside and takes aim at the five bigger of the ten Sentinel robots, “STACEY!”

I turn to Chiyo while my shields drop to 75% from the five Sentinels all raining down laser fire at once, “WHAT?!”

Chiyo fires at one of the five smaller Sentinels robots that appears to be a floating red right side up triangle. She blinks twice at the green aura its shooting at the larger Sentinel, “I’ll target the small ones, they repair the bigger ones.”

“Okay.” I turn back to the Sentinels while my shields drop to 50% and fire a blue Overdriven Plasma Launcher bolt at one of the Sentinels resulting in it falling to metal scraps and Pugneum littering the radioactive ground, “Heh…” I smirk at the remaining Sentinels and blink three times causing my shields to recharge to 100%.

Chiyo giggles as she takes out the last Sentinel Repair robot and stops beside me, “Okay, what now?” Chiyo winces when her shields drop to 50% and she blinks three times causing them to charge back to 100%, “I’m glad Overseer Calptai taught me that mental trick to recharge my shields.”

“Yeah.” I fire at the third Sentinel and Ayodele’s Balance chirps at me: OVERDRIVE DEPLETED I growl at the weapon, oblivious to my Pampers Cruisers wetness indicator changing slowly from green to yellow. “We’ve gotta take out the rest of these Sentinels and then that Sentinel Mech!”

Chiyo nods and presses the same red button on the side of her weapon. She smiles when her weapon Chiyo’s Rage chirps whilst hissing carries the bottles she had earlier out of her body. OVERDRIVE ACTIVATED. WARNING OVERDRIVE 50% AFFECTIVE AGAINST Sentinel MechS ON RADIOACTIVE WORLDS. “Well, that’s new.”

She takes aim at the fifth Sentinel and smiles when it bursts into metal and Pugneum. She turns to me whilst the Sentinel Mech slowly marches toward us while lobbing Plasma balls at us, “What now? Why did my weapon say that?”

I aim at the Sentinel Mech and unleash a barrage of Plasma Launcher fire, lightly peppering its shields, “Radioactivity has a negative effect on the Overdrive systems for some reason. It’s fine on ice worlds and super-heated worlds though.”

SHEILDS DOWN I whimper as I flick through my technology menu and my eyes widen at the lack of carbon molecules or ion batteries to recharge my shields, “CHIYO!”

Chiyo turns to me while her weapon’s AI chirps SHIELDS DOWN, “We gotta get out of here!” She waddle-runs toward me and grabs my hand, “COME ON!”

I waddle-run alongside Chiyo while we dodge the lobbing plasma coming toward us, “HOW DID I RUN OUT OF ION BATTERIES!”

Chiyo releases my hand as we run toward my outpost, “I DON’T KNOW!”

I turn to Chiyo and seconds later I see nothing but black, “YOU’VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME?!”

Date: 17:47 49th Cycle (17:47 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: Chiyo’s Home Base, Planet Ayodele Prime, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

I sit up on my shared bed and turn to Chiyo who’s sitting up to my right, “We’ve gotta finish off those blasted Sentinel Mechs!” I jump down from the bed and waddle toward the door with Chiyo waddling close behind.

Overseer Calptai chuckles as she walks over to us right as we approach the exit, “Hold it.” She scoops us into her arms and kisses our foreheads, “Where are you tots going?”

I smile toward Overseer Calptai as she carries us over to my shared bed, “We’re gonna finish off that Sentinel Mech.”

Overseer Calptai chuckles as she lays us down on my shared bed and kneels to open the drawer, “He’s probably long gone by now. Respawn points don’t work well in Radioactive environments.” Overseer Calptai rises with two Pampers Cruisers, baby wipes, and powder which she sets down to my right, “That's why I patted your diapered bottoms with those transportation crystals before you left.”

My eyes widen as I hear my diaper’s tapes rip, “What do you mean?”

Overseer Calptai sighs as she works on getting me dry whilst tossing the old wipes into my diaper, “Well, radioactive planets have a tendency to damage teleportation devices. Luckily since the planet is in system it wasn’t as bad.” Overseer Calptai lowers my legs so she can toss my rolled-up diaper into the air for it to be converted into carbon.

Overseer Calptai grabs the fresh diaper and unfolds it, “If it was an out of system planet you tots travelled to, you would have woken up on that system’s space station instead of back here.” She lifts my legs and slides the new diaper under me.

I turn to Chiyo as Overseer Calptai brings the smiling veggie decorated shell up to my belly, “Did you know any of this, Chiyo-chan?”

Chiyo shakes her head as Overseer Calptai tapes my new diaper snug around my waist and walks over to untape her diaper, “I didn’t.” Chiyo boops Overseer Calptai’s beak as the Faenus works on getting her dry, “Why didn’t you tell us before we went hunting?”

Overseer Calptai chuckles as she lowers Chiyo’s legs so she can roll up her wet diaper and toss it into the air for it to be converted into carbon, “I didn’t know. I found out when I researched Ayodele II. Radioactive planets are unpredictable to be honest.” Overseer Calptai grabs the fresh Pampers Cruisers diaper and unfolds it.

She lifts Chiyo’s legs and slides the diaper under her, “I’m just glad you tots are safe.” Overseer Calptai sighs as she brings the veggie decorated shell up to Chiyo’s belly and tapes the new diaper snug around her waist, “All dry.”

Chiyo giggles and kicks her legs allowing her fresh Pampers to crinkle, “Thankies for the changies, Calptai!”

I giggle and smile toward Chiyo while kicking my legs and joining her in the diaper crinkle chorus, “Whatcha wanna do now, Chiyo-chan?”

Chiyo stops kicking her legs and crawls toward me, “Well…” She boops my nose and smiles when I stop kicking my legs, “What do you wanna do?” Chiyo waddles over to the door and turns to me with a smile.

I giggle as I waddle over to Chiyo and boop her nose, “I dunno. Fighting those Sentinels was fun.”

Overseer Calptai walks over to her terminal whilst sanitizing her hands and chuckles at the time…

Date: 18:30 49th Cycle (18:30 Hours/27:00 Hours, Cycle 49 of 368, Planet Ayodele Standard Time)

Location: Chiyo’s Home Base, Planet Ayodele Prime, Ayodele Alpha System, Neuvoian Galaxy

“Kiddos, it’s dark out.” She walks over to us and kneels in front of the door, blocking our exit. “I don’t think you should be going anywhere.”

“But…but what about my base?” I dart my eyes around Chiyo’s home and turn back to Overseer Calptai as she lifts me into her arms.

Overseer Calptai pats my diapered bottom and walks back to the beds, “It’s bedtime for toddlers now. You guys had lots of fun today. I also asked Overseer Drogra and your brother Brian if you could spend the night since it’s dark and I don’t want either of you flying at night.”

“But…but I’ve flown at night before?” I cross my arms and pout as Overseer Calptai sets me down on my bed.

Overseer Calptai ruffles my hair, “I know you have, you’re one of the best toddler flyers in this system. However,” She kisses my forehead and smiles as Chiyo climbs into the bed to my right, “I’m here to protect you and Chiyo-chan. I wouldn’t be able live with myself if something happened to you.”

“Okay…” I turn to Chiyo’s bed and blink twice at the fact that there’s three beds sitting against the right side of the bottom floor while Overseer Calptai’s terminal is across the floor from us. “So…so what about the second floor and third floor of this base?” I yawn and rub my eyes.

Overseer Calptai lays me down and tucks me in, “I removed the third floor as it was redundant. This space is big enough to be both a bedroom and a maintenance area for me. Plus, I can more easily watch over you tots this way.” Overseer Calptai kisses my forehead, “Have a goodnight.”

I smile toward Overseer Calptai and my eyes droop, “Nini.”

Chiyo smiles as she watches Overseer Calptai walk over to her, “Thankies, Calptai. You’re the bestest.” Chiyo sits up in her bed and raises her arms. “Uppies?”

Overseer Calptai smiles and lifts Chiyo into her arms, “Of course.” She hugs her close and pats her diapered bottom as she slowly walks around the main room of the house, “I’m happy I found you, Chiyo. I’ll always be here for you and for your friend as long as he visits.”

Chiyo yawns and smiles as she rests her head over Overseer Calptai’s right shoulder, “Thankies, Mommy Calptai. You’re the bestest Mommy ever.” Chiyo yawns again and soon her eyes droop as she succumbs to slumber.

Overseer Calptai chuckles and internally dawws at Chiyo’s slip up. I’ll be the best Mommy that Chiyo ever had. If we never find her mother in this vast galaxy, I have to be. I might not be her mommy by blood, but my bond with her will grow stronger with each day we’re together.

Overseer Calptai tucks Chiyo into her bed and walks over to her own bed to fall asleep for the night.
